Building an engine, Day 2

Waited and waited all morning, finally got fed up and went for drive,
then got lunch... Fedex finally showed up at 12:30!

Engine unpacked... it's quite a sight to see an engine completely
packed up in it's various components... all brand spanking new. We
pulled each and every item, and distributed them between two carts -
one for the cylinder shop, one for the main engine shop. I spent a
couple of hours with the cylinder shop going through and building the
cylinders. We lapped and seated the valves, vacuum tested each valve
to between 14-15 psi. Each piston is weighed and measured to make sure
it will balance. Then we wrapped and painted the cylinders. Meanwhile,
the rest of the engine block components went into the paint shop as
well. In the main engine bay, we measured the crank shaft and
documented all the engine parameters. Tomorrow, we assemble the main
engine.
